Pearl & the
Beard on Sirius Satellite Radio TONIGHT!!
April 23, 2010
The Avett
Brothers are playiing the famed
Glastonbury Festival in
the UK this summer. Thinking about going? Forget it. As
usual this festival is sold out WAY before the schedule
dates. They are also playing
KOKO's in London (see
below). Maybe you can still get a ticket to that show if
you hurry. Closer to home,
Pearl and The Beard
will be playing a show TONIGHT that you can listen in on
via
Sirius Satellite Radio.
Don't subscribe to Sirius? No problem. Just got to this

"NEWS CAME OF A CHILD."
Congratulations to the Tim and Allie Bennett who on
this day are the proud parents of the newest Avett
Brothers fan, Analeigh Quinn Bennett (6lbs 11oz),
born April 3rd 2010.
Tim and
Allie are longtime TAB fans and they are the
grassroots originators responsible for the phrase
"TEAM AVETT" and the red and white jerseys you see
at all the shows.
Be on the
lookout for little Quinn at a TAB show near you
soon.
(and when Quinn the Bennett's girl gets there
everybody's gonna jump for joy)
Pearl & The Beard make fans at
SXSW!!
The Avett Brothers team up with
John Mayer for 4 shows!!
March 31, 2010
Pearl and The Beard
were only one of the many bands we follow here at
tablive.net to make an appearance at this year's SXSW
Festival. Held in Austin TX annually and a must-play for
any emerging band, this year's other favored artist
included Paleface, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, and Nicole
Atkins. The good folks over at
TheWildHoneyPie.com
have just posted
two videos from one of
P&tB's many sets. What's even better is they've posted
the
MP3s free for downloading.
They really have an awesome site, so do take a look and
listen, and do explore while you're there.
The Avett Brothers have once again sold out, or so many of
their fans would have you believe after the band recently
announced they would fill some opening slots for the seemingly
ever-touring
John Mayer. Immediately the
message boards and
FaceBook was filled with
disheartened "fans" accusing the band of being sell-outs and
worse. Mayer's recent
bouts with the press have had
him all but saying he's done giving interviews as fall-out from
remarks he made, which many
have decried as sexist and racist, has continued to plague him.
Some see the band's decision to tour with him as condoning his
behavior. Personally I think it's all overblown, but by all
means come to our message boards and let us know how you feel
about it, but before you do watch this video of John Mayer
onstage after the Playboy interview came out.
It appears as though
the UK is gonna be seeing a little more of one of our
favorite bands and very soon.
Koko in London is
selling tickets NOW for a June 24th 2010 show featuring
none other than the Avett Brothers (and as yet unnamed
special guest). Word has it their show last week was
full of tourist and expats. Don't pack away those visas
just yet.
In news closer to
home, North Carolina's other hot band with a banjo,
Holy Ghost Tent Revival
(who recently reminded an audience requesting TAB songs
that they "are not the Avett Brothers"), are finishing
up their tour of the south and west which took them on a
swing through Austin TX for the celebrated
SXSW
Festival. Reports are that their shows were
very successful and extremely HOT. Any tapers out there
are welcome to email me at this site. HGTR return to
The Blind Tiger in
Greensboro NC on Sunday April 4th 2010. That same
weekend has Grateful Dead cover band extraordinaire
Cosmic Charlie on
Friday night and
Caleb Caudle on
Saturday. Should be a GREAT weekend!
